Kristi Reynolds, PhD, MPH

Dr. Kristi Reynolds is a chronic disease epidemiologist with primary interests in obesity, diabetes, end-stage renal disease, hypertension and stroke. She is a former scholar of the NIH-funded Building Interdisciplinary Research Careers in Women’s Health (BIRCWH) program and a former junior investigator on the NIH-funded Center of Biological Research Excellence (COBRE) program, in which she studied the effects of soybean protein supplementation on biomarkers of inflammation and endothelial dysfunction and adipose tissue hormones.

Dr. Reynolds has been a co-investigator on several multi-center studies on hypertension and kidney disease. She is currently a co-investigator at the KPSC site of the CDC-sponsored SEARCH for Diabetes in Youth study. This multi-center study is designed to prospectively ascertain youth newly diagnosed with diabetes and to longitudinally follow them to learn how diabetes affects the everyday lives of children and youth who have diabetes.
