Executive Committee - Biography
David J. Magid, MD, MPH
CVRN Co-Director
Director of Research for the Colorado Permanente Medical Group (CPMG), the Director of External Affairs for the Kaiser Permanente Colorado Institute for Health Research (IHR), and Chair of the Kaiser Permanente National Research Council. He is also an Associate Professor of Emergency Medicine and Preventative Medicine at the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center.
Dr. Magid is a CVD health services researcher with methodological expertise and experience in the use of health plan databases to conduct research. His experience developing multiple CVD registries at KPCO. Dr. Magid has led or participated in numerous studies about the quality and outcomes of CVD care that have led to publications in the New England Journal of Medicine and JAMA among others. He has served on the Board of Directors of the Society of Academic Emergency Medicine, chaired the Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services Technical Advisory Panel on Emergency Care, and serves as a grant reviewer for AHRQ, NHLBI, CDC, the Emergency Medicine Foundation and the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation. He is a member of the Editorial Board of Annals of Emergency Medicine and serves on multiple national committees including the JCAHO/CMS AMI Quality Measure Task Force focused on assessing time to reperfusion for AMI patients, the American College of Cardiology ACTION ACS Registry Committee, the ACC STEMI Door-to-Balloon Time Task Force, the planning committee for the American Heart Association Scientific Forum on Quality of Care and Outcomes Research in Cardiovascular Disease and Stroke, the D2B Alliance for Quality, and multiple committees with the American College of Emergency Physicians, American Heart Association, and American College of Cardiology.
