Robert T. Greenlee, PhD, MPH

Dr. Greenlee is an epidemiologist with primary interests in prevention, detection, care, and outcomes in cancer and cardiovascular disease, with special attention to the early detection of cancer and the clinical epidemiology of cardiac arrhythmias. He serves as site PI, steering committee member, and chair of the publications committee for the NCI-funded Cancer Research Network (CRN). He is an affiliate investigator with the NCI-sponsored PLCO cancer screening trial. He also is site PI for the NHLBI-funded Cardiovascular Research Network (CVRN), where he will co-lead one of the core CVRN studies on the use, impact, and costs of implantable cardioverter defibrillators in community practice. He has been the lead scientist for the Marshfield Epidemiologic Study Area, a population-based cohort of patients receiving care from Marshfield Clinic which serves as a resource for a variety of epidemiologic and clinical research projects. Dr. Greenlee also serves on the management team for the Institute for Clinical and Translational Research, a University of Wisconsin/Marshfield Clinic Research Foundation collaboration funded by a 2007 NIH CTSA award.

Prior to work at Marshfield Clinic, Dr. Greenlee was program director for cancer surveillance at the American Cancer Society's National Office, and he maintains funded work in surveillance research through affiliation with the North American Association of Central Cancer Registries. He is a member of the HMO Research Network governing board, serves as statistical consultant to the editorial board of the Wisconsin Medical Journal, and is immediate past chair of the Marshfield Clinic Research Merit Review Committee.
