Kaiser Permanente of Northern California, Division of Research
The Kaiser Permanente Division of Research was established in 1961 and is the externally funded research department of The Permanente Medical Group, the 7000+ physician group providing medical care to the >3.3 million enrollees of Kaiser Permanente of Northern California. The DOR currently includes 41 MD and PhD full-time investigators, 23 adjunct investigators, 5 clinical adjunct investigators, and 8 staff scientists. Most investigators hold faculty appointments at the University of California, San Francisco; Stanford University; or the University of California, Berkeley School of Public Health. The Division of Research offers expertise in health services research, epidemiology, clinical trials, genetics/pharmacogenetics, pharmacoepidemiology, sociology, qualitative research, medical informatics, and quality measurement and improvement.
