Geisinger Health System (GHS) Center for Health Research (GCHR)


GCHR is the research and development unit for GHS, an integrated healthcare system with >650 physicians serving 2.5 million people in Central and Northeast Pennsylvania. GCHR conducts health services, epidemiological, and genomics research, with a strong focus on translating research to practice. GCHR includes 7 MD and PhD full-time investigators and 4 clinician investigators, with expertise in health services research, epidemiology, informatics, pharmaco-epidemiology, genetics/pharmacogenetics, sociology, and behavioral sciences. GCHR investigators hold appointments at Johns Hopkins, University of Pittsburgh, Mayo Clinic, Mount Sinai University, and NYU School of Medicine and have held key positions in major national and international studies (e.g., Women’s Health Initiative, COURAGE and CHARISMA trials).
