Fallon Community Health Plan (FCHP)
and Meyers Primary Care Institute (MPCI)
MPCI is a not-for-profit research institution initiated as a joint venture of the Fallon Foundation, FCHP, and the University of Massachusetts Medical School. FCHP serves ~200,000 members (~60% of managed care enrollees in this region). The mission of the MPCI is to promote primary care practice through development and implementation of innovations in education, research, and clinical practice. Over the last decade, special emphasis has been placed on CVD epidemiologic and health services research relating to the diagnosis and management of patients with various conditions such as acute myocardial infarction, heart failure, venous thromboembolism, and peripheral arterial disease in Central Massachusetts (e.g., Worcester Heart Attack Study).
